I could not do without these jam-stained 'bibles' which I would recommend to anyone, whether you be a starter or experienced in your preserve-making. Shop around for the best price online

Nigella Christmas by Nigella Lawson - the book that started it all off for me - contains THAT Chilli Jelly recipe which was the first preserve I ever made.

If this book was part of a house, it would be the fireside. full of traditional & established lovely recipes with a few forgotten ones also in there.

Perfect Preserves.jpg

a beautiful book full of inspirational recipes for jams, jellies, fruit curds, marmalades, sauces and much more. clear instructions and lovely photographs

Homemade Jams & Chutneys by the Women's Institute. God bless the W.I. - as British as tea, talking about the weather, warm beer & Winston Churchill. A lovely book of traditional preserves and a few surprises in between.

A very recent purchase & a lovely compendium of well-known & new culinary concoctions for all things preserve. Well written & with clear instructions accompany beautiful photographs

the modern preserver.jpg

A lovely collection of recipes for fruit & veg, meat or fish with recipes for all kinds of jams, jellies, pickles, chutneys, relishes and much, much more. very inspirational.

This author was a British home economist, food writer &  broadcaster (1915-2005) & this lovely book is one of my favourites

Booze for Free.jpg

The title says it all. Also contains a wonderful recipe for 'prison booze' which i have yet to try (the booze, not prison...). This book allows you to make booze from pretty much anything!
